Here's the first look at new movie Twist, a modern reworking of Charles Dickens' classic Oliver Twist starring Michael Caine as ageing master thief Fagin.

Also on the star-studded bill are singer and actress Rita Ora, David Walliams, Franz Drameh, Sophie Simnett, Lena Headey and Raff Law, actor son of Jude Law.

Law is in the lead role as Twist, with Ora taking on the gender-swapped role of the Artful Dodger, and Game of Thrones star Headey as the also gender-swapped Sikes, described by the filmmakers as Fagin's 'psychopathic business partner'.

“A chance encounter with a gang of grifters led by the charismatic Dodge (Ora) sees Twist (Law) caught up in a high stakes heist to steal a priceless painting for master thief, Fagin (Caine), and his psychopathic business partner, Sikes (Headey). Drameh will play Batesey, Simnett will play Red and Walliams will play Losbern.”

Directed by Martin Owen, the movie will be released next year on Sky Cinema and in UK theatres on the same day.

Festive film fans will be happy to note that Twist marks the return of Michael Caine to the world of Dickens adaptations. The Italian Job star will indelibly linked with the Victorian author thanks to his starring role in 1992’s The Muppet Christmas Carol.
