18 Aug – With the film industry going on hiatus due to the pandemic, Hong Kong filmmaker Kearen Pang recently made her transition from behind the screen to the front of the camera with her very own cooking show, "Kearen's Kitchen".
As reported on Mingpao, the "29+1" director who promoted the new show on Hong Kong Open TV recently, confessed that she has never been a great cook, but that the show is an opportunity to discover her personal potential.
"Some of the guests are really good at cooking. Some could even cook whatever they want just by looking at the ingredients. For me, I am at the stage of where I have to look at recipes. I feel so ashamed," she said light-heartedly.
Speaking about the show, Kearen stated that every episode of the show will feature various health information and teach people how to maintain the health of different parts of their body, stating that she had once experienced a health scare because of her own negligence towards a healthy eating lifestyle.
On the other hand, when asked if she is still serious about filmmaking, the director stated that she is also facing the many difficulties experienced by other filmmakers due to the pandemic.
"But I will never give up on my work as a filmmaker. I am still working hard on writing scripts," she said.
