Established in 1988, Feng Zhen Lor Mee is a pioneer in the Singapore hawker scene. Known for its old school traditional lor mee, they began in Taman Jurong with tender batang fried fish, delicious meat sauce, and homemade meatballs. Predominantly located in the Western end of Singapore, they look set to expand across Singapore in 2022, starting with the North at Blk 417 Yishun on 6 May 2022!

A testimonial to their quality, they were recently awarded a Michelin Plate in the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2022 and the stall is helmed by a third-generation successor, Gladwin Teo.

Expect to find the well-loved Feng Zhen Lor Mee at S$4 for small or S$6 for large. Regulars swear by the stall’s thick slurp-worthy broth, which tastes like shark fin soup, created using a closely guarded family recipe. Apart from that, the bowl also showcases a combination of handmade, juicy pork meatballs, tender batang fish, noodles, and eggs.

Although an original bowl of lor mee goes well with flat noodles, over here, customers can choose four different kinds of noodles: classic flat noodles, vermicelli, yellow noodles or kway teow.

Another crowd-puller is the Fish Lor Mee (S$6 for small, S$8 for large). Batang fish is used, instead of the usual red grouper, and is deep-fried to perfection. They are also one of the first to use batang fish as opposed to dory fish or shark meat.

It’s always heartwarming to see a family-run business!
