Fazura denies criticising fellow actress in recent TV show
9 Apr – Actress Nur Fazura has recently dismissed the notion that she was "throwing shade" against a fellow celebrity in her recent comment on the comedy-based competition, "Muzikal Lawak Superstar".
The actress, who was filming a commercial with her baby daughter in Suria KLCC recently, stated that her comment about crossing the state border in the previous episode of the show was directed to the contestants on stage and not in any way a criticism against another.
"As a jury, I need to be transparent in my criticism. As a public figure, I also have the right to speak and express my opinion," she said.
The actress, who is one of the three permanent jury members on the aforementioned show, made a comment last week during the semi-final in response to a comedy performance in which one of the competing groups made a skit about smuggling one's father inside a luggage just to cross the border.
Said Fazura at the time, "We have to abide by the rules from the government and follow standard operating procedures (SOP). If they said you can't cross, then just don't do it."
Netizens who saw the show quickly speculated that it was a jab towards Neelofa, who made headlines recently for going to Langkawi for her honeymoon following her wedding late in March.
It is noted that Neelofa had since denied the claims, saying that she was in the island for business purposes - though photos and videos of her and husband Haris Ismail getting a jet-ski island tour and riding a cable car sparked more backlash from many.
Neither Fazura nor Neelofa ever publicly admit any issue between the two of them, despite netizens continuously pitting the two against each other ever since Fazura started dating now-husband and actor Fattah Amin, who was romantically linked to Neelofa prior to their relationship.
