Fazley Yaakob joins GV8 for the sake of daughter
16 Nov – While Adibah Noor wants to challenge herself and Ani Maiyuni wants to reconnect with her fans, Datuk Fazley Yaakob stated that he decided to join "Gegar Vaganza" for the sake of his children.
The 43-year-old singer, who will be a part of the eighth season of the popular reality show, stated that he was hesitant about accepting the offer to join GV8 due to his hectic schedule at first, but felt sorry for his youngest, Ellie, who never knew that her father also sings.
"She saw a video of me singing "Asmara Ini" while carrying her brothers and she asked where she was and why was she not there. I thought she needs to know that from me and not from others [that I am a singer]," he said.
Asked if he would be ready to accept all the criticisms, the father of four stated that he is so used to criticising people's dishes in cooking competitions that he should be open to being judged as well.
"I miss performing on stage too. Ever since the country was battling COVID-19, I haven't been able to perform live, just virtually," he said.
"Gegar Vaganza 8" will be launching its first episode on 21 November.
