Fantastic Beasts 3 officially titled ‘The Secrets of Dumbledore’
Fantastic Beasts 3 will now be known as The Secrets of Dumbledore, after the announcement of a revised release date. Harry Potter’s narrative is over, but his universe continues in the prequel series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. What began as a film about magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) chasing exotic animals over New York City in 2016 has evolved into an epic story about the first major wizarding war. Fantastic Beasts 3 was originally going to hit theaters this fall. But cast changes and production challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic pushed the release date back to 2022.
Fantastic Beasts 3 is likely to start up where 2018’s The Crimes of Grindelwald left off, with dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald gaining more followers and enlisting the help of the strong Credence Barebone (Ezra Miller). The third film is supposedly going to establish the stage for Grindelwald’s infamous battle with Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) since the entire Fantastic Beasts trilogy is building up to it. Fantastic Beasts 3 is important because it will mark the first appearance of Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald, who will replace Johnny Depp, who was forced to leave the role last fall.
Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore
Warner Bros. has revealed the official title for Fantastic Beasts 3: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Following the announcement that the film will release over Easter weekend in 2022. It also included a screenshot of the film’s logo. A wand engraved into the “D” of Dumbledore’s name will be visible to keen-eyed followers. Perhaps the Elder Wand?
With this title, it’s evident that Fantastic Beasts 3 is going all-in on The Crimes of Grindelwald’s controversial twist. The 2018 film concluded with the revelation that Credence is Aurelius, a long-lost Dumbledore sibling. Many fans were surprised by this story aspect, given the Harry Potter series only introduces three Dumbledore siblings: Albus, Aberforth, and the late Ariana. The title The Secrets of Dumbledore almost promises that the film will delve into Albus’ murky history, as well as what happened to Ariana.
The Secrets of Dumbledore also suggests that the Fantastic Beasts series is moving away from Newt even further. He will undoubtedly remain a prominent figure in the franchise. But when Dumbledore and Grindewald’s fabled clash approaches, he may fade into the background. One can only pray that this does not occur. Following The Secrets of Dumbledore, there are two more films in the works. Each of which must cover a significant amount of ground. This installment’s concentration on Dumbledore may be since the others will return to Newt. Everything is only guesswork at this point. But fans now have another important piece of the puzzle in the form of this official title.
