Fans want Jerrold Tarog maintain Erik Matti's reimagining of Darna's costume

12 Oct – As soon as Jerrold Tarog was announced as the new director for the superhero movie, "Darna", the filmmaker found himself being flooded with congratulatory wishes and one special request - that he will not revert to Darna's original costume.

As reported on ABS-CBN, a netizen recently tweeted Tarog about the concern regarding Darna's costume, saying that it is important for Tarrog to realise former director Erik Matti's vision of a warrior costume for Darna instead of the original costume that the Twitter user more or less described as "a cheap bikini look".

"We are millennial. [Follow the example of] Wonder Woman. It's a different costume - sexy but not impolite. Praying for you!" the user added.

To that, Tarog said that he will do his best, though stressed that he will also refer to the owner of the intellectual property.

On the other hand, Tarog, who is known for movies like "Heneral Luna" and "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral", also revealed that he is currently reviewing several Darna scripts and finding the best way to execute the project.
