Family and friends bid farewell to Chan Pui Wah


30 May - A memorial service was recently held for the late film producer and former TVB manager Chan Pui Wah, who passed away back in April.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the funeral which was held at the Kowloon City Baptist Church was attended by many friends and colleagues, including actor Andy Lau - currently recuperating from his January accident.

The actor and wife Carol were seen arriving at the church to pay their respects, and even sent flowers to the venue.

Aside from Andy, the memorial service was also attended by Sammo Hung, Jacky Cheung, Nick Cheung, Sandra Ng, and Chan's TVB family - including Elaine Lok, Sharon Chan, Norman Leung, Connie Chan, Deanie Ip, Wong Cho Lam and wife Leanne Li.

Wong, who spoke to the media during the memorial, thanked everybody for their concern and prayers.

"Everybody knows that Chan Pui Wah was a faithful Christian. It was her wish to have her funeral at the church," he said.

Chan, known for producing dramas and movies such as "Her Fatal Ways", "Chungking Express" and "A Simple Life", was revealed to have lost her battle with cancer and other related diseases on 28 April.

She was 68.
