“According to the district attorney’s office, Medina got into an argument over Medina’s girlfriend with his roommate, 36-year-old Josh Sutter, on Jan. 31, 2015. The argument became physical, and Medina fatally stabbed Sutter multiple times with a sword.”
Of course, Ricardo Medina Jr is best known as Deker in ‘Power Rangers Samurai’ – the conflicted bad guy who always showed a shred of decency throughout.
But he also starred as the Red Ranger in ‘Power Rangers Wild Force’.
“A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department told TheWrap that the incident took place around 3:45 p.m. at a residence in the 38000 block of San Francisquito Canyon Road, an isolated section of the Los Angeles-area mountains, about 45 miles north of the Civic Center.”
Ironically, ‘Power Rangers Samurai’ received numerous complaints, citing the show’s over the top on-screen violence when it first aired in the USA. Featuring a band of Power Rangers who draw on the power of the samurai, it was a big hit with kids across the globe.
Ricardo Medina Jr. now faces up to six years in a federal prison.
His sentencing is due on 30 March 2017.
