Prince Harry will be visiting Singapore for the first time this weekend, during which he will be observing iftar, attend an Action for Aids reception as well as take part in the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup. Ahead of his arrival on 3 June, here’s everything you need to know about His Royal Highness:

  • Prince Harry is the youngest son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, who died on 31 August 1997 in a tragic car accident in Paris. Prince Harry was 12 at the time.

  • He is the younger brother to Prince William, who is married to Kate Middleton, who are also the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. If you’re unsure of what a duke means, the title refers to the head of a territory, also known as a duchy.

  • The 32-year-old Harry, who was born on 15 September, is also uncle to little Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

  • The official title for Prince Harry, who is fifth in line to the throne, is His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales. His real name is actually Henry Charles Albert David.

  • He lives at Kensington Palace in London, UK.

  • Prince Harry had a 10-year military career between 2005 and 2015, during which he was involved with operations in Afghanistan in 2007 and 2008. He left the British Armed Forces (BAF) holding the rank of Captain.

  • After his departure, Prince Harry continued to volunteer with the BAF’s Personnel Recovery Unit to help improve the welfare of wounded and sick service people.

  • In 2014, Prince Harry helped to organise the first Invictus Games in London, which is an international adaptive sport event. The 2017 Invictus Games will be held in Sydney, Australia, and the prince will be heading there from Singapore.

  • In 2006, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho founded the Sentebale charity in memory of their mothers. Sentebale means “forget me not” in Sesotho, the official language of Lesotho, located in southern Africa. Prince Harry will be taking part in the Sentebale Royal Salute Polo Cup during his visit to Singapore to raise fund for his charity.

  • Prince Harry is also well-known among other global figures such as former US president Barack Obama, who recently visited the Prince at Kensington Palace.

  • Besides his charitable work, Prince Harry has also been charming fans with his good looks.

  • During his last visit to Sydney two years ago, a fan carrying a placard with the phrase “Marry Me – Last Chance! – Prince Harry” managed to steal a kiss from the Prince.

  • Unfortunately for the fan, His Royal Highness is no longer single and has been dating American actress Meghan Markle, 35, since 2016. Markle is popular for her role in television series Suits.

  • Prince Harry has previously been romantically linked to UK actress Cressida Bones, 28, who was his girlfriend for two years.
