Another Couture Fashion Week has wrapped in Paris. This season's schedule, which began with Schiaparelli and Dior on Monday and culminated with Fendi on Thursday – via Armani, Chanel and Valentino – saw the brands present their spring/summer 2023 collections – and there were more than a few breathtaking gowns that we expect to see gracing the red carpet this awards season.

Maria Grazia Chiuri has always been inspired by the past when creating for the future, and for the autumn/winter 2023 couture collection, "history and excellence [were] integrated into every beat of the present". For this show, the designer looked to the divine and the "cult of the goddess", resulting in a celestial collection in a heavenly colour palette of white, beige, silver and pale gold, celebrating the strength and fragility of femininity. The accompanying show set was designed by the Italian artist Marta Roberti, who worked with the Chanakya School of Craft (a regular creative contributor to Dior shows) on beautifully embroidered scenography in tribute to goddesses, divine mothers and spiritual forces.
