The magic that is San Diego Comic-Con — the *chief* nerd holiday for all of us genre entertainment lovers —sadly came to a close on July 24, after four jam-packed days of super talented cosplay, awesome panels, and so many amazing celebrity encounters. Of course, much of the industry uses the occasion of SDCC to release their news about upcoming films and television shows. Because if you release a trailer or casting news or news about a new movie/show at SDCC, chances are your announcement is going to get MAJOR hype.

There were some seriously incredible trailers released at Comic-Con this year, for films that have already released one (or several) previews already to shows that are marking their debut at SDCC 2016. Check out every single major trailer that premiered at this year’s convention below. Ahh, I’m already so psyched for all of the ridiculously exciting stuff that will be coming to our big and small screens this year and next, you guys.

TV

American Gods

I feel like everything Neil Gaiman has ever written has gotten the TV or film treatment. Next up is American Gods, which is coming to Starz (home of our other #1 fave Outlander) on a still-undisclosed date in 2017. As someone who read the book–this series (from Bryan Fuller, who also did Hannibal) looks INCREDIBLE and I need it, like, yesterday.

Arrow

Oliver Queen is training some baby heroes for a new team. Seems fun! Arrow is coming back to The CW October 5.

Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency

This upcoming BBC America show about eccentric British detectives is premiering in October. Its vibe is sort of like the quirky Sherlock/Doctor Who mash-up of my dreams and I’m super into it. Plus, Elijah Wood stars!

Fear the Walking Dead (Season 2B)

Things are getting even more bleak, intense, and bloody in the second half of the second season of the prequel series Fear the Walking Dead, which returns to AMC on August 21. Yeesh.

The Flash

DUDEBOSS EXECUTIVE CISCO. It looks like Barry already regrets changing up the timeline in the Season 2 finale. The Flash is always great at alternate universe stuff, so “Flashpoint” looks like it’ll be pretty cool–for however long it lasts. The third season is dropping on October 4.

More TV

Legion

If you’ve ever wanted to see Cousin Matthew from Downton Abbey as an unhinged super-powered mutant, you’re in so much luck. This mind-bending and visually impressive series from Fargo‘s Noah Hawley is coming to FX “early 2017,” as the trailer says.

Marvel’s Iron Fist

This is more teaser than trailer, but Marvel’s latest Netflix TV series gives us Finn Jones (aka, Loras Tyrell) looking decidedly scruffier as Danny Rand, alter-ego of titular superhero Iron Fist. It’s set to drop sometime in early 2017.

Marvel’s Luke Cage

Jessica Jones’ ex-boyfriend has had his own series planned for a while now AND IT’S FINALLY COMING. The enigmatic Jessica Jones scene-stealer is played by Mike Colter and the soundtrack for the series is already bomb based on this one trailer. The entire first season is coming to Netflix on September 30. SO SOON.

Sherlock (Season 4)

Things are never good in Sherlock-land when one of the first things you see in a trailer is Moriarty. Season 4 of Sherlock (“coming in 2017”) looks crazy intense.

Vikings (Season 4)

There’s a homecoming on the horizon. Ragnar’s return isn’t exactly met with balloons and welcome-back cake by his two exes and approximate 45 children, though. Sorry, Ragnar. On the bright side, Lagertha is still #girlboss goals AF. The second half of Season 4 is returning to the History Channel in fall 2016.

The Walking Dead

I was prepared to be annoyed that this trailer just continued to keep the identity of Negan’s victim in the dark, but the super-long flashback-filled trailer was so gosh darn nostalgic and emotional and intense that I couldn’t help but love it. Jeffrey Dean Morgan looks diabolical and charming as heck (as per usual) and Carol looks like she’ll be an absolute delight (also as per usual). TWD is coming back to AMC on October 23. There’s also a freakin’ tiger, y’all.

Movies

Blair Witch

The big horror news out of Comic-Con was that this movie (formerly known as The Woods) is actually Blair Witch, a sequel to the 1999 mega-hit found footage film The Blair Witch Project. The new trailer, with the film’s proper name attached, looks terrifying, and I’m so here for it. The movie is premiering September 16.

Doctor Strange

Tilda Swinton, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Rachel McAdams are all amazingly talented so this mind-bending superhero film (the latest from Marvel) is sure to be awesome. It’s also a movie starring two Benedicts, which is noteworthy in and of itself TBH. And Hannibal‘s Mads Mikkelsen as another villain? Yes, please. The movie is coming to theaters November 4.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

If you couldn’t snag tix to the ultra-anticipated London debut of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child this year, fear not–you can still get your Harry Potter fix on with this spin-off/prequel movie, releasing on November 18. Obviously, the movie looks like so much fun and just visually amazing–a perfect Harry Potter combo.

Justice League

Move over Avengers, the Justice League is coming to town. This trailer definitely makes it seem like the movie will be much lighter (tonally) than its DC predecessor Batman v. Superman. Personally, I’m totally here for Ezra Miller as The Flash, Khal Drogo Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and that Batman/Wonder Woman sexual tension. The movie is scheduled for release on November 17.

More Movies

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

If you saw The Man from U.N.C.L.E. last year and were like “Hmm, not bad, but would have preferred the Middle Ages,” this movie is for you. Uber-stylish director Guy Ritchie takes on the King Arthur legend, debuting March 24. The cast is amazing, too, with Jude Law, Eric Bana, and Charlie Hunnam, among others.

Kong: Skull Island

“Get your hands off of me, you damn dirty ape!” Oh, my bad; wrong primate-centric movie. We hardly see the titular beast in this trailer, but he seems to be far, far larger than I remember? This reboot of the King Kong franchise stars Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, and John Goodman–so, y’know, all uber-talented folks. It’s scheduled for release in March 2017.

The LEGO Batman Movie

It seems like only yesterday that Will Arnett stole the show in The LEGO Movie as LEGO Batman. Now, he’s got his own movie, dropping February 2017. It looks hilarious and adorable.

Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad has already dropped quite a few incredible trailers already, but ahead of the movie’s August 5 wide release, the movie managed to squeeze in one more while at SDCC. This last trailer highlights the film’s killer soundtrack.

Wonder Woman

The first full trailer for Wonder Woman’s solo film is EVERYTHING. Gal Gadot stole the damn show when her portrayal of the lasso-toting superheroine was introduced in Batman v. Superman earlier this year, so her own film was already highly anticipated. The movie, co-starring Chris Pine and releasing summer 2017, looks funny and action-packed and amazing.
