Eugenio Derbez Lists Pacific Palisades Contemporary (EXCLUSIVE)

Eugenio Derbez, popular veteran star of a slew of Mexican comedies and telenovelas who scored a big north of the border hit in 2013 as the writer, producer, director and star of the dramedy “Instructions Not Included,” listed a sophisticated contemporary in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles with an asking price of $6.2 million. Online marketing materials show the two-story residence, designed by Scrafano Architects and professionally outfitted per listing details by “designer to the stars” James Blakely III, measures in at a sliver more than 5,200-square feet with three en suite bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Derbez, who purchased the property via corporate entity in June 2014 for $4.25 million, was recently added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is slated to executive producer and voice the titular character in the upcoming animated feature “Speedy Gonzalez.”

A freestanding fireplace divides the high-ceilinged living and dining rooms where long expanses of transom-topped glass sliders along one wall open to a slender courtyard with massive minimalist water feature and on the opposite wall to a flat and grassy yard with saltwater swimming pool, spa and sweeping city, coastline and ocean views. The sky-lit eat-in kitchen features limestone tile flooring and stainless steel counter tops and a separate den/family room offers a fireplace set between open bookshelves. One of the three guest/family bedrooms on the main floor has a fireplace and en suite bathroom while the master bedroom, plenty large enough to accommodate a sitting area, privately occupies the entire second floor with wide plank French oak floorboards, fireplace set in to a dark wood paneled wall, and a sumptuous bathroom with soaking tub and steam shower, and floor-to-ceiling windows and glass sliders that peel open to a balcony with unobstructed views over Santa Monica to the Pacific Ocean.

Presumably Derbez, now in his mid 50s, maintains a home in his native Mexico City where he was born to late telenovela star Silvia Derbez and property records show he additionally owns, via corporate concern, a 2-bedroom and 2-bathroom penthouse in an unassuming West Hollywood building acquired in July 2015 for $814,000.
