Etta Ng explains why she was searching for Jackie Chan

17 Dec – Jackie Chan's estranged daughter Etta Ng has finally addressed her previous attempt to find her father, saying that it was not because of money as people alleged.

As reported on Now News, the 19-year-old, who fulfilled her promise to clarify reports about her seeking out Jackie while in Canada recently, shared that she was looking for answers, not financial help.

"I had a lot of things that I didn't understand. I wasn't trying to get money out of him [like people say]. At the time, I was feeling lost and scared and I was struggling with emotional issues," she said.

Etta described the situation as a "cry for help".

When asked what she wanted to know from Jackie, Etta said that she wanted to know what actually happened when she was younger.

"[I wanted to know] why my mother is the way she is, if the two of them had discussed things, or whether he had a talk with my maternal grandmother," she said.

As to the fact that Jackie made no mention of her in his autobiography, Etta stated that she doesn't want anything from him and is not bothered by it at all.

"In my eyes, he is neither good nor bad, because I don't know him. I don't judge someone I don't know," she said.
