Ethel Booba annoyed by vandalism at rallies

25 Sep – Ethel Booba has no issues with people protesting injustice, as long as they are not littering the area where they held their rallies.

As reported on Inquirer, the comedienne recently expressed her ire on Twitter following the September 21 rallies, asking why protestors couldn't express their sentiments without vandalising their surroundings.

Following the backlash over her tweeting about the protesters, Ethel clarified that she is not against expressing anger over corruption.

"But [two wrongs doesn't make a right]. I am not against rallies that have true causes. I am only saying no to the vandalism part," she added.

When netizens mentioned that some activists do graffiti on walls as "a silent but powerful clamor for those who may have forgotten, ignorant, or choose to not care, written in concrete paper, for all of society to see", Ethel pointed out that she was talking about the trash and mess left, and not the message itself.

The comedienne also stressed that she does hear the reasons given by some protesters, but that she also has the right to explain why she is against vandalism.
