  • Grimes recently spoke with the New York Times about creating lullabies for her son, X Æ A-XII Musk.

  • In the interview, Grimes shared that her son occasionally watches R-rated movies and is into unconventional art forms.

Can you believe it’s been five whole months since Grimes and Elon Musk introduced their son, X Æ A-XII Musk, to the world? Same, me neither! Since the couple sent the internet into a tizzy with their son’s unconventional name, they’ve been radio silent on how he’s doing and what he’s into—that is, until now. Speaking with the New York Times, Grimes opened up about creating a special lullaby soundtrack with Endel specifically for X Æ A-XII (who she has nicknamed “X”).

The inspiration for Grimes’s new project was simple: “Stuff for babies is really just creatively bad,” she said. “I don’t want your first introduction to the world to just be all this aimless crap.” From there, Grimes argued that babies “do have taste. They definitely like some things. They don’t like other things. They fully have opinions.”

For example, Grimes’s son is already into 2.5-hour R-rated war drama movies! “I’ve watched Apocalypse Now and stuff with my baby,” she added. “He’s into radical art. Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level.” Cool-cool-cool.

Seems like Grimes is doing the work to make sure X becomes a cultured toddler, but Elon, on the other hand, is kinda just sitting on the sidelines. “Well, babies are just eating and pooping machines, you know? Right now, there’s not much I can do,” he said in an interview with The Times back in July. “Grimes has a much bigger role than me right now. When the kid gets older, there will be more of a role for me.”

Can’t wait to hear more interesting updates on X’s development!
