EMP halts filming of new movie due to COVID-19 cases

27 Jul – With the pandemic entering its third wave in Hong Kong, Emperor Motion Pictures (EMP) recently announced that it will be halting the production of its new movie, "Soon to be Wed" (working title).

As reported on Singtao Daily, the news was shared by the marketing department of the said production company, stating that they are suspending filming for the said movie for a week due to the rising number of cases in Hong Kong.

"Of course we hope that the pandemic will subside soon so that we would be able to resume work," said the company's rep.

When asked if the actors wear masks when they are not in a scene, the rep stated that the cast and crew have followed the pandemic prevention measures carefully throughout production, and that the company even does temperature checks every day.

The film, which is a collaborative project between EMP and One Cool Pictures, is a romance film that stars Carlos Chan and Michelle Wai.
