Though she’s admittedly not the biggest football fan, Emily Ratajkowski scored a ticket to Super Bowl 50. We guess appearing in her first Super Bowl commercial automatically granted her access into Levi’s Stadium for the showdown between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos.

The Gone Girl actress, 24, and New York Giants Pro-Bowler Odell Beckham Jr. star alongside the new Buick Cascada convertible in Buick’s first ever Super Bowl ad campaign titled, “The Big Day.” In the commercial, Emily is a guest at a wedding where she nabs the bride’s bouquet using the one-handed technique that Odell has become famous for. Naturally, the football player happens to be a guest as well and witnesses the catch.

“During our shoot, Odell gave me helpful pointers,” said Ratajkowski. “While I’m definitely not ready to become a pro football player, I was proud to have caught the ball a few times!”

The “Blurred Lines” video star told Yahoo Celebrity, “I’m definitely more of a basketball fan, so it was really funny when I got off the phone after getting the call about the commercial. I texted my dad and my boyfriend, ‘How do you feel about Odell Beckham Jr.?’ They both were like, ‘WHAT?!’ They were so stoked, which made [shooting the ad] really fun for me.” She added, ”[Odell]’s super sweet. Really, really down to earth and mellow. He made the shoot really fun.“

While Ratajkowski doesn’t have a horse in this year’s Super Bowl race, she was excited about getting to catch the action live. "I’m kind of not sure who to root for, but the fact Peyton Manning might be retiring soon and is in his last Super Bowl, I think I’m going for the Broncos. I’m just hoping it’s going to be a good game.” (And she said she wasn’t a football fan.)

For the majority of us watching the game from the couch, Ratajkowski shared three things she believes are essential to any Super Bowl party.

“OK, you definitely need good beer,” she said. “You need a lot of beer. You never know how much people will drink or how long they are going to stay so you should have a lot. Second, put the TV in a good space so a lot of people can sit or stand around. Placement it is key. You don’t want people blocking the TV. And finally, barbecue. You need some good barbecue food.”

Somehow we doubt Emily indulges like most folks do on Super Bowl Sunday.

“I think [whether I indulge or not] is all about how bad I’ve been the rest of the week, and how I’m feeling and what’s worth it and what’s not. The worth it category would be a good guac. Having a few beers if you want to have fun with your friends is totally worth it.”

Though it’s winter, L.A.-based Ratajkowski manages to find ways to stick to her fitness routine.

“It’s kind of cold here, which I know will make some people roll their eyes, but it’s 60 which is cold [for L.A.]! For me, I’m still able to hike and stuff, which I guess is sort of cheating since I don’t have to go to the gym, but yoga is definitely what I do indoors,” she explained. “When it gets really cold you want to hole up and get everything delivered, so I also think forcing yourself to cook a little more is a smart way to stay a little bit more in shape.”

Ratajkowski will experience what real cold feels like soon enough. The model is heading to New York for Fashion Week where she’ll spend Valentine’s Day with her boyfriend, musician Jeff Magid.

“We’ll probably do a nice dinner out somewhere we love,” she said of her V-Day plans.

But before she heads to the Big Apple, Emily is making a pit stop.

“I’m going to be in New Hampshire next week with Bernie Sanders,” she revealed. “I’m super excited [to support him]. I haven’t met him before, but I’m looking forward to it next week. I’m totally feelin’ the Bern.”

Guess the model-slash-actress can soon add political activist to her resume.
