Eman Lam elated to win first award as a solo artiste

3 Jan – Eman Lam couldn't help but express surprise over winning second place in the Ultimate Song category at the 2019 CRHK Ultimate Song Chart Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, whose song "Last Faith" was listed just below Sammi Cheng's "We All Grew Up Like This", stated that it was a personal victory for her since it was the first time she won the category as a solo artiste, following the death of her duo partner Ellen Joyce Loo in 2018.

She also took to social media to express her happiness over the recognition, writing, "For almost 20 years since my debut, the musicians who accompanied me have trusted me so much. They gave me the best, most brilliant and elaborate creations, and what I can best repay this trust is to sing every song well. Thanks again to Albert Leung and Pong Nan for giving me such a good one. The tunes and words are so well written, I am lucky to get this song work."

"This song belongs to everyone. I hope you find your own power and find your own faith in it. I am grateful to my parents, to my heart, to those around me, and to my heavenly teacher," she added.

Lastly, Eman dedicated the award to her late at17 partner Ellen Joyce Loo, and expressed, "Thank you for loving me so much."
