Elva Hsiao’s cryptic “I am done” message signals the end of her relationship with boyfriend

Posting an Instagram video in the early morning of 6 July, Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao was quoted saying “I am done” in the video, alleging the end of her relationship with actor Justin Huang.

Accompanying the dimly shot video was the caption: “Done. Both parties have different thinking. Both parties have their own ideas. The lady has her dreams; the man has his thinking. Wishing both to be safe and healthy, that both will be able to find their own directions. Thank you for everything. Goodbye.”

Fans in the comment section were quick to speculate that Hsiao had broken up with her boyfriend of three years, Huang, who is 16 years younger than the singer.

Responding to NOWnews’s enquiry about the relationship, Hsiao’s agency shared a statement that “Couples will tend to quarrel, and being cooped at home due to the pandemic without anything to do, on top of her injury, it is a mentally and physically challenging time for Hsiao. With all these issues piling up, both of them do not feel good.”

The agency also let on that while Huang wanted to bring Hsiao back to Vancouver to meet with his family, the singer had rejected the idea due to the ongoing treatments she is receiving for her face injury. “They are taking a break but not having a breakup. They are still in love with each other. He is returning to Vancouver first, and the couple is taking a break first, allowing each other to have a breathing space,” the agency commented.

As Hsiao still requires rest and time to recuperate from her face injury, her company had also requested fans and media to give her space to do so. “She needs space and quiet time to recuperate from the injury, and we hope everyone can be understanding towards this,” the agency said, “Thank you for your concern.”

Bitten by her adopted dog in February, Hsiao was reported to suffer from skin necrosis and had spent more than a month in the hospital. While she needed to undergo surgical procedures, these were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan. The singer had also delayed the release of her new album due to the injury.
