Elton John Confirms ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Role Opposite Channing Tatum

Elton John has confirmed his role in the upcoming “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” movie, taking to Instagram to share the news about the sequel.

“It’s been a long time since Tommy….. #Kingsman,” he captioned the photo, which references a previous poster of the film and bearing the words, “Wednesday night’s alright for fighting.” That’s a reference to John’s song “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting.” “Tommy” refers to his 1975 film.

In April, TheWrap reported that John was in talks for a fun role alongside Taron Egerton in the spy movie.

The “Tiny Dancer” singer will join Oscar winners Julianne Moore and Halle Berry as well as “Narcos” star Pedro Pascal and Channing Tatum in the sequel, which will also see Mark Strong return. Posters have implied that Colin Firth, who was shot by Samuel L. Jackson‘s character in “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” will also return.

“Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated,” the poster read, with a pair of glasses placed on top of the words.
