Ellie Suriaty reveals husband Azri Iskandar finally gets COVID-19 vaccine

29 Sep – Despite previously declaring that they will not be taking the COVID-19 vaccine, Ellie Suriaty revealed that her husband, fellow actor Azri Iskandar has decided to go against their beliefs and received his shots just so that he can make ends meet.

The actress, who herself has not been vaccinated, shared that Azri went behind her back to do so.

"But I am fine with him taking the vaccine. I don't want to pick a fight because it's his choice," said the 51 year-old.

Ellie stated that Azri was unhappy too by the fact that he had to get his shots, but that they have to do so as it was required for all creative industry workers to get their vaccinations in order to work.

"He's the head of the family and he has to make money," she added.

It is noted that Ellie and Azri made headlines earlier for protesting against the COVID-19 vaccinations. They later made the news again earlier this month when two of their children, age 17 and 12, filed a police report as a way to protest against the government requirement for students to receive vaccinations before returning to school.
