Seeing as how we’re only three days into 2018 and it feels like all hell has broken loose, let’s focus on something happy and uplifting right now. Like, say the fact that Ellen Page has announced she’s now a married woman. If you were looking for something awesome to really kick this year into high gear, this is it.
Taking to Instagram, Page announced that she has married her girlfriend, Emma Portner, and the two posted matching (and ah-dorable) pictures showcasing their happy union. But if you’re here looking for details about the nuptials — like, who proposed to whom, when did this happen, where did this happen, what were the brides wearing, what was the dinner menu like, can we see all the pictures, please?? — there are unfortunately no further details. We can’t even tell you the date of the ceremony, since neither Page nor Portner disclosed it.
But nevertheless, it’s enough knowing that these two have tied the knot to give us a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. “Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife,” Page captioned her series of photos.
News that the two were dating first hit in the summer of 2017, thanks to a round of pictures they shared on social media. Portner is a teacher at the Broadway Dance Center, and she and Paige have posted many videos of the two dancing together. Because the couple that dances together, stays together.
It took all of about .5 seconds for the internet to really freak out about this new union, because this is the kind of love story we need right now.
