Ellen Adarna denies using marijuana with Baste Duterte

The actress says that she and her ex were just drunk, not high, in the viral video

27 Feb - Ellen Adarna has denied speculations that she and ex-boyfriend Baste Duterte recently smoked marijuana - which is still considered illegal in the Philippines.

According to Coconuts Manila, rumours of the former couple's drug use were sparked recently, after a video of them went viral on Facebook.

The video, titled "Ellen Adarna and Baste Duterte: Sabog na Sabog", featured Adarna looking semi-conscious as she speaks to the person who took the video, while the young Duterte can also be seen smoking in the background.

However, when asked about it recently, the actress laughed and stated that they were only drunk at the time, and weren't getting high as speculated.

Adarna stated that she also shared the same video on her Instagram account a few weeks ago.

She continued, "I wouldn't have posted it online if it was weed. Who would be stupid enough to do that? Not unless medicinal weed already gets legalised."

"Plus, he is the song of Digong" she remarked, referring to the musician's father, President Rodrigo Duterte.

As for Duterte, Adarna stated that he was smoking a cigarette known as iQOS from Japan.

"They can say whatever they want to say. We were both drunk," she added.
