Edwin Siu: I wouldn't dare compare myself to Stephen Chow

16 Mar – Edwin Siu couldn't help but feel humbled when his comedic performance in the new drama, "Birth of a Hero" was said to be on par with Stephen Chow.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who appeared at the promotional event of the said drama alongside Grace Chan and Ben Wong recently, admitted that he is happy with the positive reception from the viewers who watched the first few episodes of the new drama.

When asked to share his thoughts about people comparing him to Stephen Chow's performance in the 1989 drama, "The Final Combat", Edwin replied humbly that he wouldn't dare say he is comparable to the comedy auteur.

"Stephen is the originator of the moleitau (Hong Kong-style slapstick) comedy. I grew up watching his dramas and movies, so of course I am influenced by his performance," he said.

However, Edwin said that he is still happy that viewers are entertained by his performance.

In the period comedy drama "Birth of a Hero", Edwin plays the role of a clever innkeeper who, along with his sister and an unexpected new friend, aims to change society and expose the corruption in his town.
