Edgar Wright's Last Night In Soho is 'dark, twisted, and thrilling' teases screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns

Edgar Wright’s Last Night In Soho is one of our most anticipated films of 2020 and its co-screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns says it’s “everything you want from an Edgar Wright movie, and something really different”.

Talking to Yahoo while promoting her new film 1917, which she co-wrote with Sir Sam Mendes and lands in cinemas on 10 January, Wilson-Cairns revealed she went straight onto Wright’s film after wrapping on the WW1 thriller.

“[Last Night in Soho] is fun, it’s dark, it’s twisted, it’s thrilling, it’s everything you want from an Edgar Wright movie, and something really different,” the screenwriter tells Yahoo in our video above.

Starring Thomasin McKenzie, Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith, Diana Rigg, and Terence Stamp, Wright’s first film since 2017’s Baby Driver is scheduled to be released on 25 September 2020.

It’s been described as a “psychological horror-thriller” with Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski's Repulsion cited as influences for the Shaun of the Dead director’s new film.

“I realised I had never made a film about central London – specifically Soho, somewhere I’ve spent a huge amount of time in the last 25 years,” Wright told Empire in January. “With Hot Fuzz and Shaun Of The Dead you make movies about places you’ve lived in. This movie is about the London I’ve existed in.”
