Eddie Cheung feels fortunate to avoid Coronavirus

8 Feb – TVB actor Eddie Cheung admitted that he felt relieved that nothing bad happened to him last month following his trip to Wuhan.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who appeared at the "Of Greed and Ants" promotional event recently, stated that the situation was not as serious as it is today back when he went to the city for work in early January.

"I mainly stayed in the hotel and quarantined myself when I returned to Hong Kong. It was fortunate that nothing bad happened," he said.

However, Eddie said that he remains optimistic about the situation, as everybody already has the experience of dealing with SARS (severe acute respiratory syndrome) several years ago.

"The most important thing is to be responsible for your own health," he added.

The actor also revealed that he went skiing in Europe with his wife earlier, and had to return to Hong Kong via Switzerland after Italy decided to stop all flights between the country and Greater China.

"I rented a car, drove ten hours to Switzerland, and returned to Hong Kong on a red-eye flight," he added.
