27 Nov – Hong Kong actor Eddie Cheung was recently named Outstanding Actor of the Year at the 2019 China Film Festival.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor won the said accolade for his performance in the Hong Kong movie, "Guilt By Design", in which he plays the role of a crooked senior policeman who blackmails a jury to change the outcome of a court case through hypnosis.
He expressed, "Thank you to all the investors, directors, and producers for all the trust you have in me by giving me so many great characters to play. I am also grateful to the committee for the recognition. This is the best reward."
Eddie added that after working as an actor for many years, he does not only see it as a profession but a source that enriches his life, as it enables him live "thousands of lives".
The actor also thanked his fans for their undying support and promises to do his best in future works.
On the other hand, Eddie was reunited with director Hung Yan Yan at the same event, and revealed that the martial arts star was the first filmmaker who cast him to play a villain in a mainland movie.
"We haven't seen each other in more than ten years. I am happy to be able to see him again and have a chat together," he said.
