Hit singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is coming back to Singapore on 26 April next year for a concert at the National Stadium.

Organiser Lushington Entertainments announced on Monday (22 October) that the hugely-popular British pop star has included Singapore among the first batch of stadium headline shows for his return to Asia next year.

The other two shows announced are at the Songdo Moonlight Festival Park in Incheon, South Korea, and at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok. More cities and dates will be announced soon.

Tickets for the Singapore show are priced at S$248, S$158, S$98 and S$68. They will go on sale on Thursday at 10am at SportsHub Tix (hotline +65 3158 7888) and all SingPost outlets. They will also be available at SportsHub Tix Box Office at Kallang Wave Mall on Thursday, and subsequently at the Singapore Indoor Stadium Box Office from Friday onwards.

This is the third time that Sheeran will be performing in Singapore, after previous shows in 2015 and 2017. Tickets to his November 2017 concert were sold out within an hour. Although a second show was added later, fans complained that touts were reselling the tickets at double or triple their original prices.

In order to put a stop to this, the tickets for next April’s show will be personalised, with the name of the ticket purchaser is printed on the tickets. Upon arrival, the purchaser may be required to provide a valid photo ID that matches the name on the ticket to gain admission.

Sheeran, 27, is currently on the North American leg of his global “Divide” stadium tour. During this summer’s UK run, he played to over 1.1 million people in 23 shows, including four sold-out nights at the massive Wembley Stadium in London, making it the biggest tour done by a solo artiste in Britain.

Since his debut in 2011, he has been delivering hit after hit over three best-selling albums, such as The A Team, Thinking Out Loud, Shape Of You and Perfect.
