10 Mar – GMA's long-running variety show recently announced that it will stop having a live audience for the time being in response to the recent pandemic.

The show shared an official statement regarding the temporary halt on its official Instagram account on 9 March, which read, "In view of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Philippines, which has placed the country in a state of public health emergency, the management of Eat Bulaga has decided to temporarily suspend the admission of a live studio audience in the airing of its show, to help prevent the spread of the virus and to ensure the health and safety of its talent, staff, crew and members of its audience."

"Please understand that this decision was made after extensive and careful consideration in order to cooperate with government efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19," it added.

Although there will be no live studio audience for the show, "Eat Bulaga" will continue to air as usual.

It is noted that the country recently confirmed four new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number to ten.
