I can already hear the theme song playing on repeat as I flip through the aisles of Japanese pasta sauces and pick up half-priced sashimi on my way out. Almost as infectious as their iconic song, Don Don Donki is just one of those places that’s loved by just about everyone and anyone. What’s not to like about a store that has everything you love, and is opened until the wee hours of the morning? Following their newly-opened Suntec City outlet, the Japanese Megastore is making its way to Tampines 1 very soon.
There hasn’t been an official announcement on the opening just yet, but user I Love Tampines on Facebook has posted images of the store’s hoarding, stating that it’s coming soon. The official Facebook page for Tampines 1 Mall also teased a snippet of the store’s hoarding with nothing but its emblematic mascot, but of course, true Don Don Donki fans knew at once what was headed their way.
According to the post on I Love Tampines, the Japanese store will be taking over the space previously held by Uniqlo and Browhaus, spanning across a substantial floor area of three unit spaces.
Not counting the sweet potato concept store at Changi Airport which has since closed, this will be Don Don Donki’s second outlet in the East, joining the likes of their outlet at Downtown East. This also makes it the brand’s 11th outlet in Singapore.

Apart from sweeping the sushi counter at 9pm when everything’s on sale, this excited Eastie is looking forward to tapau-ing meals and picking up groceries at the Japanese store once its doors open. But as always, remember to keep safe, and maintain social distance at all times.
