Dyson's new £400 styler is here to revolutionise your beauty regime - but will it live up to the hype?

Two years ago, there wasn’t a beauty blogger who hadn’t given the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer a YouTube shoutout. Millennials and older generations alike flocked to purchase the cult item – regardless of its £299 price tag.

On the back of its resounding success, the vacuum giant has launched a new product which promises to change your hair routine forever.

Introducing the Dyson Airwrap styler.

What is the Dyson Airwrap styler?

According to Dyson, the styling tool is designed to create effortless waves, soft curls and salon-worthy blow dries without potentially damaging temperatures.

As the device only uses air, we’ll no longer need to spend countless hours on a morning trying to achieve work-ready hair as the device prevents frizz and pesky tangles.

After investing £75 million in hair science, Dyson’s engineers conducted six years worth of research before launching the product.

After analysing what users need, the styling tool requires “minimal effort” as we’ll no longer need to juggle a brush and hair dryer simultaneously (erm, ideal).

How does the Dyson Airwrap work?

The Dyson Airwrap’s digital motor creates a phenomenon known as the Coanda effect.

For those of us unfamiliar with the scientific terminology, it occurs when a high-speed jet of air flows across a surface and due to the difference in pressure – the air flow attaches itself to the surface.

In turn, this attracts and wraps the air around the barrel.

In a nutshell, when you use the device your hair will be whipped into the styling tool enabling you to curl, wave, smooth or rough dry your locks without extreme heat damage. Magic, right?

Is the Dyson Airwrap worth the price tag?

The Dyson Supersonic undoubtedly changed the face of the hair and beauty industry with us mere mortals now able to achieve salon-worthy locks from the comfort of our own home. You only need to pop over to the Dyson website to read hundreds of rave reviews on the five-star gadget.

With the hype around the company’s latest launch already rife, we have high hopes for the product. Like it’s first foray into the beauty industry, the Dyson Airwrap comes with an eye-watering minimum price tag of £399.99 but is it worth breaking the bank?

The styling tool comes in a grand total of three different variants. There’s a Volume and Shape option for those with fine hair while the Smooth and Control gadget is experienced in tackling frizz-prone locks.

For beauty junkies willing to splash the cash, the Dyson Airwrap Complete includes all of the brushes and barrels required for £449.99.

Although it may mean sacrificing your morning flat white to fund the purchase, the styler is undeniably impressive.

According to Dyson, it’s scientifically proven to measure the temperate up to 40 times a second to ensure your hair isn’t exposed to serious heat and is designed to dry hair to a perfect moisture level.

Tempted? We recommend hanging in there for a few weeks to let your favourite blogger give the full lowdown.

For those of you who can’t wait, the Dyson Airwrap styler is now available to purchase.
