Chrishell Stause Shuts Down Gleb Savchenko Affair Rumors Once More: "It Really Is Annoying"
Last week, Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause and her dance partner Gleb Savchenko (aka Team Selling It!) were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Just days later, Savchenko took to Instagram to share that he and his wife, choreographer Elena Samodanova, were getting a divorce after 14 years of marriage.
In the days following the announcement, rumors swirled that Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko may have been involved with one another. Things got even messier when Elena Samodanova claimed that Savchenko did engage in "a recent inappropriate relationship."
That begs the question: Did Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savechenko have a secret affair while competing on DWTS? Are they more than friends? Here are the facts.
Gleb Savchenko announces his divorce from Elena Samodanova
On November 6, professional dancer Gleb Savchenko announced his divorce from his wife, Elena Samodanova, on Instagram.
"It is with a heavy heart that I tell you my wife and I are parting ways after 14 years of marriage," Savchenko revealed in the caption alongside a photo of himself, Samodanova, and their two children.

Shortly after Savchenko’s sad announcement, Samodanova shared a text post to the social media platform which read: "i don't hate you, i'm just disappointed you turned into everything you said you'd never be." Many believe this post was about Savchenko's actions.
Chrishell Stause shuts down rumors about affair
A few hours after Savchenko announced his divorce, the 39-year-old realtor took to her Instagram Stories to send love to Savchenko during this difficult time. She also mentioned that rumors had begun swirling about her and Savchenko. The soap opera star denied having anything beyond a "strong supportive friendship" with him.
Elena Samodanova says Gleb Savchenko had "a recent inappropriate relationship"
The day after the news broke, Samodanova spoke with People. She claimed that Gleb had been unfaithful to her in the past and "a recent inappropriate relationship" had created turmoil in their marriage—which ultimately led to their split. "No wife should ever stand by and watch while another woman gifts her husband expensive presents, lures him out to dinners, and seduces him at every turn," she told the outlet. She did not give any hints to who this woman is.
Gleb Savchenko says he’s disappointed that Elena Samodanova put their private life on blast
In an effort to thwart rumors about him and Stause's relationship, Savchenko gave an exclusive statement to E! News. "My relationship with Chrishell was and remains strictly platonic. Our friendship during our season on DWTS was not the reason for our split. Elena and I have had longstanding issues in our marriage. This has been an ongoing situation between Elena and I paired with poor timing," he said.
In response to Samodanova's interaction with press earlier that day, which exposed his infidelity, he emphasized that he had wanted to keep these matters private. He explained that he was "saddened and disappointed to see that Elena has chosen not to do the same."
Chrishell Stause says “cheating” is her number one deal breaker
On November 9, Stause spoke with her former DWTS castmate, Kaitlyn Bristowe on an episode of her podcast, Off the Vine. Stause took this time to reveal her ultimate deal breaker when it comes to relationships, which ironically, was very timely.
What’s an instant rejection in Stause’s book? "If I found out they were a cheater in some way... like they had a girlfriend," she told Bristowe.
DWTS dancer Cheryl Burke claims the timing makes things more complicated
On November 10, professional dancer Cheryl Burke, who is currently on DWTS, gave her two cents on the situation. "Just because they dry hump on TV guys doesn't mean it's real," she said during the latest episode of her iHeartRadio podcast, Pretty Messed Up.
"This is the whole thing. When you're in this world of Hollywood, you do reality shows and this stuff does happen." She compares Stause and Savchenko's actions to a scripted sex scene in a movie and asks listeners "do you think they [the actors] are actually really having sex?"
Despite being on set with the pair, Burke confirmed that she doesn't actually know if anything went on between them. She acknowledged that both Stause and Savchenko denied the affair. However, she added that the timing of this situation makes things complicated.
Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko publicly reunite for first time following rumors
On November 23, Stause and Savchenko appeared on the Dancing With the Stars season 29 finale, where they took the stage together one last time. Savchenko commemorated the bittersweet moment by snapping a selfie with Stause backstage. "I’m grateful for your friendship Chrishell," he wrote.
Despite the pair's efforts to thwart rumors, many fans still took to the comments of Savchenko's photo to remark on their relationship. "I ship," one fan wrote. "Would make a gorgeous couple," another fan chimed in.
The following day, Stause told E!’s Daily Pop that she joked with Savchenko to "stay away from" her during the live episode. However, she confirmed her innocence once again: "I feel like it really is annoying because it’s one of those things where, you know, unfortunately, the timing of what he’s going through personally, people want to make it into something it’s not," she said.
Why do people think Chrishell Stause and Gleb Savchenko had an affair, anyways?
Well for starters, ever since DWTS season 29 kicked off back in September, Savechenko's Instagram account went from a montage of photos of him and his family to mainly photos of him and Chrishell Stause. Although, one could simply argue that he was just promoting the show.
Furthermore, Savechenko and Stause had spent almost all of September and October with one another in the dance studio. If Samodanova is telling the truth about her husband’s “recent inappropriate relationship," Savchenko would have had very little time to pursue an outside relationship, other than with Stause, given the demanding rehearsal schedule for the show.
Not to mention, Stause has gone through a lot within the last two years. She lost both her parents to cancer and suffered a very public divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley. The 39-year-old is currently single and may be in a vulnerable place. However, as she shared on her Instagram Story: "Having gone through a public split myself, I would not wish this on anyone."
