Kensington Palace has announced the dates of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s forthcoming royal tour of Pakistan.

The couple will embark upon the five-day trip on October 14 while their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will stay at home.

The news was announced via the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s official Twitter account.

Ahead of the tour, the couple will also attend a special event, hosted by The Aga Khan, at the Aga Khan Centre on October 2.

It is the first time in 13 years that a member of the British royal family has visited the country and the trip is at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were the last royals to pay a visit back in 2006.
