Royal fans in hysterics over Mary Berry’s sexual innuendo towards Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge was asked to “have a little squirt” by Mary Berry on television and royal fans are having a field day.

The 84-year-old baker and television presenter, best known for judging Great British Bake Off between 2010 and 2016, took part in a BBC One festive special programme A Berry Royal Christmas on Monday night together with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

For the programme, the Duke and Duchess were joined by Mary Berry across four engagements at charities the royal couples supports, including homelessness prevention charity Passage Charity, and support organisation Action on Addiction.

Berry is renowned for her baking-related sexual innuendo, which is often innocently delivered, and the wife of England’s future king was not spared.

Twitter erupted as, 12 minutes into the programme, Berry asked Duchess Kate if she would like to “have a little squirt on the cake”.

“Yes please. Can you show me how to do it first?,” was the royal’s innocent response.

She later obliged, artfully decorating the top of a cupcake using an icing bag.

While the programme aired on Monday, one of the sweetest moments was revealed in a promotional clip released over the weekend.

Duchess Kate revealed that her youngest child Prince Louis is a fan of Berry.

“One of Louis’s first words was ‘Mary’,” she told the TV baker of her 18-month-old son.

“Because right at his height are all my cooking books on the kitchen bookshelf,” she added.

“And children are really fascinated by faces, and your faces are all over your cooking books, and he would say, ‘That’s Mary Berry’ . . . so he would definitely recognise you if he saw you today.”
