  • Meghan Markle has made an £8,000 (approximately $10,000) donation to the charity Migrateful.

  • Migrateful supports refugees, asylum seekers, and vulnerable migrants and helps them to host cookery classes, learning useful employment skills in the process.

  • The charity revealed on Twitter that the fund had been donated "from The Royal Foundation on behalf of The Duchess of Sussex."

Meghan Markle has made a significant donation to aid refugees, migrants, and asylum seekers in the United Kingdom.

Sharing the news on Twitter, MigratefulUK wrote, "We're so excited to share that we have received a donation of £8000 from The Royal Foundation on behalf of The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle! We are immensely grateful for this donation which will go towards supporting the Migrateful mission."

As Migrateful's website explained, "Migrateful runs cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants struggling to integrate and access employment. The cookery classes provide ideal conditions not just for learning English and building confidence, but also for promoting contact and cultural exchange with the wider community."

"Due to legal, linguistic and social barriers, finding work can be extremely difficult for many migrants," the site continued. "Migrateful’s mission is to empower and celebrate refugees and vulnerable migrants on their journey to integration, by supporting them to run their own cookery classes."

Prince William and Prince Harry recently split the Royal Foundation's funds, with some of the money going to the now-defunct Sussex Royal foundation. It's likely that the donation forms part of the re-distribution of the royal duo's closed charity funding.
