Dua Lipa made a case for one of spring’s most disputed trends this week as she returned to the United Kingdom.

Working with WFB LIVE on Wednesday, the “Levitating” musician continued her streak of retro-chic style in the puffiest pink and orange jacket. The standout piece came layered over a classic babydoll tee with a set of ’90s-inspired jeans and a bright yellow hat to match. For a bold finishing touch, the British artist tapped Bottega Veneta for a woven $3,990 purple crossbody bag.

To complete the unique look, Dua Lipa then slipped on a set of block-heeled clogs complete with cow print uppers and a leather base.

Clogs, like “ugly” sandals and ballet flats, are experiencing a revitalization amongst growing celebrity style trends and footwear favorites; the new appreciation for the classic slip-on style comes with an increased desire for comfort and stability in the fashion world amidst the current environment. Clogs fall in line with the regrowth of loungewear trends, slipper styles and more as influencers turn what once was considered taboo or plebian into the must-have pieces for fall.

Hermès, in particular, made headlines this week as it debuted its own buzzy twist on the clog silhouette. Originally unveiled during its spring ’21 show in October 2020, the design draws similarities to most traditional clogs with a studded and patent leather twist. The style, which dropped only weeks ago, is already sold out with many more footwear lovers waiting for a restock to get their hands on the shoe.

It’s no surprise that Dua Lipa herself is on top of the clogs trend, either. Beyond an award-winning music career, Dua Lipa herself dips her toes in the fashion world quite often. From sitting from rows at major shows during Fashion Month to selecting daring duds for red carpet appearances, she keeps things regularly exciting. The “Don’t Start Now” singer previously appeared in campaigns for YSL Beauté and Fragrance, Adidas and Pepe Jeans amongst others.

Her ensembles and style are credited to celebrity stylist Lorenzo Posocco; Dua Lipa is Posocco’s main clientele but he has also worked with Troye Sivan and Alex Demie in the past.

Most recently, Dua Lipa signed on as a Puma ambassador with a multi-year deal as she serves as the face of its women’s business. Through her new title, the musician will aim to “help inspire women around the world” through worldwide effots and “important inclusive initiatives close to her heart,” according to the company.
