Dua Lipa loves treating herself to manicures after years of biting her nails.
The 24-year-old enjoys wearing fake acrylic nails with intricate and outlandish designs after spending her childhood growing up in Kosovo and London gnawing at her hands.
“I used to bite my nails. I love nails now. Big, big fan,” the New Rules hitmaker told Vogue.com.
Lipa now turns to her manicurist, Michelle Humphrey, who changes her nail designs every two weeks when she’s in London, in an effort to keep the singer from biting her nails again.
Elsewhere in the interview, Lipa insisted that she wasn't a "high-maintenance" person, but when she first began being recognised by fans as her career took off, she became obsessed with looking her best in case anyone took a photograph of her.
“When people started stopping me for pictures, I thought I had to wear make-up to look decent. Then I started caring too much about what I looked like, and decided I didn’t want to care,” she shared. “If I’m looking tired it’s because I am working and I’m happy to be working. If I have a breakout, I have a breakout. These things make me who I am.”
The Be the One singer, who is the new face of Yves Saint Laurent's fragrance Libre, also cheekily confessed that she used to love Britney Spears' iconic perfume Curious when she was younger, and regretted wearing oversized T-shirts, leggings, UGG boots, and “streaky foundation".
