Marlborough is responsible for three quarters of the country’s wine output, and for good reasons. The combination of diverse soils and mesoclimates—the geographically-restricted climate of a zone—have given New Zealand an impressive range of award-winning wine varieties. After all, Marlborough propelled New Zealand to the international wine stage with its Sauvignon Blanc, while its Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris are gaining momentum with acclaim.
Perhaps we cannot travel to New Zealand to taste the air and wine ourselves, but take consolation in the fact that you can still bring a little bit of the country back to your home, especially if you are a wine aficionado.
