New York showed the beauty world what it was capable of this week, after a Spring/Summer 2020 season that was littered with theatrical, artistic and gorgeous catwalk beauty looks.
There was a notable trend for colorful washes of eyeshadow this season, often incorporating beautiful, bold hues that bled into one another for a theatrical look. At Jason Wu the models sported sunset tones of oranges and pinks, while Christian Siriano championed pastels. Vera Wang applied splashes of color across the bridge of the nose, Pyer Moss brought it down to the cheekbones and Chromat kept it simple but effective with neon hues. Marc Jacobs embellished the look even further with the addition of studded gems.
Statement eyeliner ruled at Chromat and Jeremy Scott -- where it was fluid and neat -- and at Tom Ford, where it was graphic and grungy. Chunky winged shapes made for a bold look at Phillip Lim and at Longchamp, where dark feline flicks brought focus to the otherwise low-key makeup look.
Rusty-red hues stole the show at Tommy Hilfiger, where the red-brown lipstick tied into the show's '70s theme, and at Rebecca Minkoff, where a deep red lip made a statement.
