Dr Soo Wincci says quality service is as important as higher education

8 Jun – Despite her various university degrees, beauty queen and performer Dr Soo Wincci doesn't think having a higher education is enough.

In a live session with Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance Malaysia (IBFIM) recently, the singer stated that education is not a ticket for an individual to think less of somebody else, but to use the knowledge in ways that can benefit others as well.

"I've always told myself to get as much education as I can, but not to show it off. A great person is not someone with just a higher education, but also the ability to translate it into good work and gain other expertise," she said.

Soo added that there is no point of being a first-class student if one doesn't know how to give the best service.

On the other hand, Soo stated that she decided to return to Malaysia after earning her second doctorate in Spain in order to lend her service to her country.

"If no one returns to serve the country, who then will defend it? My reason to study was not just for monetary gain," she said.
