Good news! We just got After We Collided—aka the second movie in the After series based on a steamy Harry Styles fanfic—and we already know the next film, After We Fell, is on its way. Full disclosure: The sequel almost left me feeling like we ended right back where the first film left us, but a very unexpected cliffhanger swooped in to fix that. So what’s next for our intense on-again, off-again couple, Tessa and Hardin, in the third installment? Here’s everything we know so far.
Is After We Fell really happening?
Yes! In fact, shooting has already started on the third and fourth films. That’s right, we’re getting After Ever Happy too! The stars of the series, Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin, shared the news on Instagram. FYI, this leaves the fifth book in the series, Before, a fittingly named prequel, the last one awaiting a movie adaptation confirmation.

What will the movie be about?
Like the first two films, After We Fell will be based on the third book of the same name in the series. Here’s the synopsis, which will leave you feeling extremely eager to get all of the deets:
Just as Tessa makes the biggest decision of her life, everything changes. Revelations about first her family, and then Hardin’s, throw everything they knew before in doubt and makes their hard-won future together more difficult to claim.
Tessa’s life begins to come unglued. Nothing is what she thought it was. Not her friends. Not her family. The one person she should be able to rely on, Hardin, is furious when he discovers the massive secret she’s been keeping. And rather than being understanding, he turns to sabotage.
Tessa knows Hardin loves her and will do anything to protect her, but there’s a difference between loving someone and being able to have them in your life. This cycle of jealousy, unpredictable anger, and forgiveness is exhausting. She’s never felt so intensely for anyone, so exhilarated by someone’s kiss—but is the irrepressible heat between her and Hardin worth all the drama? Love used to be enough to hold them together. But if Tessa follows her heart now, will it be...the end?
Will the full cast return?
The previous films were shot in the United States, but the third and fourth movies are being shot back to back in Bulgaria where COVID-19 numbers are low. For various reasons, scheduling conflicts among them, some of the OG cast members aren’t able to return. These are the sacrifices that have to be made to bring you the entertainment you’re dying to consume in a timely manner! Don't worry, though, because every character is still in good hands.
We know you’ve been waiting and are beyond excited to share some exciting news with you! @chance_perdomo has been cast as “Landon", @stephenmoyer as “Christian Vance”, @mirasorvino as “Carol”, @ariellekebbel as “Kimberly” and @carterjenkins as “Robert”. Now that they’re officially part of the After family alongside @hero_ft @josephinelangford @louiselombard, @robestes8 let’s show them all the love ❤ ❤

Here’s the low-down: Chance Perdomo from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been cast as Landon. True Blood’s Steve Moyer is taking over as Christian Vance. Arielle Kebbel, who you love from John Tucker Must Die, will play Kimberly in place of The Vampire Diaries star Candace King. Mira Sorvino and Carter Jenkins join the cast as Carol and Robert, respectively. Frances Turner reportedly joins as Karen, a character who has now been recast twice. Bonus: A new character we haven’t seen in the series yet will be played by Kiana Maderia.
When will the movie be released?
Production is in the early stages, so we don’t have a release date yet. The second movie’s release was delayed by the pandemic, making fans wait over a year for it. Currently, After We Fell is being filmed with a limited staff to help protect everyone working on it. Plus, these days, you can never be too sure what the future holds! Take comfort in knowing that the film is on its way. In the meantime, have you considered reading the books?
