Donnie Yen's girl shows off dance skills on 17th birthday

25 Jan – Being the daughter of model Cissy Wang and martial arts actor Donnie Yen is sure a bonus, but Jasmine Yen recently proved that she has her own talents too if she is to make a name for herself.

Last week, the 17 year-old surprised her Instagram followers on her birthday by sharing a nearly two minute video showing her skills as a dancer, performing to the song "Goteo" by Paloma Mami.

"Here's my birthday surprise! Thank you to amazing Danie Chan for making this happen," she said, referring to her choreographer.

The video had since received more than 20,000 views and praises from her followers, including Simon Yam's daughter, Ella Yam, who commented, "This is SO GOOD!"

At the same time, the video also sparked speculations that Jasmine may be trying to feel out the response for a possible showbiz debut, seeing that the video itself was professionally organised. Even her own mother Cissy was revealed to have styled her for the video.

The same video was also shared by Donnie on his Instagram account, writing, "The proudest baba."

In another post, the actor wished his daughter a happy 17th birthday, writing, "Never forget how I'd loved to carry my baby on my shoulders, she's the princess of the family and now this princess has turned 17! It's crazy how times had just went too unforgivably fast as I'd watched you grown into this beautiful, talented, smart and elegant little woman right before my eyes! Just can't describe enough of how proud I am as your baba, u know you have brought so much happiness and joy to our family!"
