Dolly Parton Just Shared a Rare Thanksgiving Throwback Photo With Husband Carl Dean

This marks the second photo she's shared of her (usually very private) husband in one month.
This year for Thanksgiving, Dolly Parton gave us something to be grateful for. The Queen of Country shared a rare throwback photo with her husband, Carl Dean, and it might be the cutest retro shot of all time.
The sepia-toned image features a young Parton and Dean snuggled close on a sofa, wearing their holiday best while smiling for the camera. “Happy #Thanksgiving from me and mine to you and yours ❤️,” she captioned the post.
In case you didn't know, Dean has famously dodged being photographed or seen publicly with his wife since she rose to fame, and he's done so successfully for decades. So even a throwback photo of the elusive husband feels like a real treat to true Parton fans. And this one feels extra special because it actually marks (for maybe the first time ever) the second photo Parton shared of him in one month!

On Nov. 2, the Jolene singer shared a separate photo from the couple's younger days—but it was edited to make Dean appear to be wearing a vintage-inspired tee shirt from Parton's new merch collection. Still, fans took what they could get. “Find you a partner who will support you like my Carl Dean does!” she captioned the post.
“He does not want to be in the spotlight at all,” Parton told Entertainment Tonight last year. “It’s just not who he is. He’s like, a quiet, reserved person, and he figured if he ever got out there in that, he’d never get a minute’s peace—and he’s right about that.” He's just a private person, and he wants to keep it that way.
She continued: “I’ve always respected and appreciated that in him, and I’ve always tried to keep him out of the limelight as much as I can. He said, ‘I didn’t choose this world. I chose you, and you chose that world. But we can keep our lives separate and together.’ And we do and we have.”
With that being said, we better enjoy the Dean cameos while they're here, because it might be years before another surfaces.
