"Doktor Dukun Dani", a light film with a heavy message

The cast, producer and director of "Dukun Doktor Dani".

26 Jul – Director of "Dukun Doktor Dani", Sabri Yunus, has this time come up with a film with a light-hearted storyline rather than one with a heavy plot.

"No one is brave enough to deliver a heavy plot for the cinema nowadays as the film industry is not doing so well."

"That is why me and the producer had agreed to balance the film out and present a light-hearted film which is embedded with important values," said Sabri when met at the premiere of "Dukun Doktor Dani" held at mm2Cineplex, eCurve, yesterday.

Sabri Yunus hopes that his film will get the attention of audiences.

Added the 55-year-old director, he felt lucky to have worked with a great cast that were able to deliver a high level of commitment towards the film.

When asked about the late Yus Edoo aka. Pak Yus (Jambu) who also stars in his film, Sabri said that his role in this movie was very different from his previous roles as it was a serious one this time around.

Added Sabri, Pak Yus was very disciplined and was committed in everything that he did.

"Pak Yus is an actor and comedian who can't memorise his script. I can say so as I have worked with him many times, however in this film he was very committed. He kept asking the other actors to rehearse with him before entering the set."

Produced by Astro Shaw and Balang Rimbun, "Dukun Doktor Dani" stars Taufik Batisah, Fasha Sandha, Amerul Affendi, Arwah Pak Yus, Raysha Risroze, Sabri Yunus, Khatijah Tan and more.

Made with a production budget of RM800,000 the film will be released in cinemas this 28 July 2016.
