Disney's smash hit show 'Vampirina' coming to cinemas for one weekend only

While Disney continues to smash box office records left, right and centre in 2019 with a string of blockbusting mega hits, the House of Mouse is prepping a slightly smaller scale release for its smaller scaled fans.

Disney Junior’s Vampirina Fang-tastic Party will hit cinema screens across the country for one weekend only on 5-6 October and tickets are on sale now.

The fun-packed 68-minute screening of Disney Junior’s hugely popular CG-animated show will include never-before-seen episodes and spooky interactive elements, and will be shown at many major cinema chains across the country including Vue, Odeon, Cineworld, Showcase and Empire.

The press release promises “fun and games and sing-alongs that will have kids and parents screeching at the screen and up on their feet singing and dancing in the aisles”.

For the uninitiated, Vampirina is a CG-animated show about a family of vampires who relocate from Transylvania to Pennsylvania, where they attempt to seamlessly integrate themselves into modern American life.

Naturally, the show avoids the whole “drinking blood” aspect of the vampire mythology. aiming more for a Haunted Mansion-level of family friendly spookiness.

Vampirina - or Vee to her friends - is excited to experience everything that the human world has to offer. She learns that while it may be easier to blend in with her peers, it’s important to celebrate the differences that make everyone unique. Vee’s mum and dad are also adapting to their new life as proprietors of the local Scare B&B, a bed and breakfast for visiting ghouls and goblins and her loyal band mates – the Ghoul Girls.

James Van Der Beek (Dawson’s Creek) and Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) voice the roles of Vampirina’s parents, Boris and Oxana Hauntley.

The hugely popular show was the #1 transmission amongst Pay TV kids’ channels in 2019 to date for girls 4-5 with over 2 million viewers tuning into the show on Disney Junior UK on average each quarter in 2018.
