Dior awards winner Gangao Lang in global photography contest for young talents
SINGAPORE — Back for a second year, Christian Dior Parfums, the Econale Nationale Superieure de la Photographie, Arles (ENSP) and Luma Arles announce the winner of the second “Dior Photography Award for Young Talents”, Gangao Lang, 21, from the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts. Gangao’s work ‘Second Self-Introduction,’ was influenced by painting, which takes “a young girl with a dream as a starting point, and ends up as a woman with a vision.”

A total of 10 works from schools in France to South Korea were presided over by French photographer Dominique Issermann, and Maja Hoffmann (President and Founder of Luma Arles), Simon Baker (Director of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie), Sonia Sieff (photographer), Peter Philips (Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup) and Claude Martinez (President and CEO of Christian Dior Parfums.
Gangao will receive up to 10,000 Euros of grant from the House of Dior, who will commission a creative piece from the young artist. Her photos, alongside the rest of the selected artists will be exhibited in the Grande Halle at the Parc Des Ateliers from now to 22nd September 2019 in Arles.
