Diana Zubiri didn't mind playing Janine Gutierrez's mother
19 Jul – Diana Zubiri recently admitted a lot of people were questioning why she played Janine Gutiererz's mother in the Kapuso drama, "Dragon Lady".
As reported on PEP, the actress, who spoke to the media about the issue at an event in Quezon Cty, stated that a lot of people took issue with it as she is only five years older than the 29-year-old actress in real life.
Zubiri said that she didn't think much of it at first, since the story started with Gutierrez's character being a baby and then a child.
"I said okay [to the project]. It's a good character, so I accepted it," she said.
The actress stated that a lot of people were surprised when the Dragon Lady character herself grew up and was played by Janine Gutierrez.
"People were like, "What? Why?" But acting is just like that. It's chaotic," she said with a laugh.
However, Zubiri stressed that she didn't mind it at all especially since Gutierrez looks younger than her age and could pass off as a high school student in her late 20s.
"So I said, it's fine. And people got used to it. We got those comments for the first two weeks, but then it's gone. It seems hard to notice now," she said.
