3 Sep – Dennis Padilla recently admitted that it was him who asked daughter Julia Barretto to take a break from social media following the controversy surrounding her, Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo.
As reported on ABS-CBN, the actor, who was asked about the rumours of his daughter's supposed involvement in the breakup of Philippine's former favourite couple in a radio interview, said that he told the actress not to go online and to ignore all the messages she received about the issue.
"[I said] If there are any bad messages coming to you, don't even care about it. Just wait for it to calm down, because once you respond, the comments will never stop," he said.
Padilla also admitted that he was affected by the rumours as well, as it was his daughter who was victimised by the situation. At one point, Padilla said, he even felt like physically hurting Julia's bashers.
In a previous interview, the actor said that he did send messages to Julia's "Between Maybes" co-star, but received no response from the latter.
Asked if he has any message to Anderson, Padilla said, "Please reply to my text message."
