Dempsey's Museum of Ice Cream churns joy for its guests

Singapore - What does Beyonce, David Beckham and Katy Perry have in common?

They're all fans of the Museum of Ice Cream! The cheery Museum of Ice Cream officially opens its Dempsey doors on 19 August, welcoming guests to its first ever international location outside the United States.

The museum boasts 14 multi-sensory installations, a fully functional cafe, bar, and a retail store within its immersive space. As a testament to the popularity of this museum, all weekend slots in the opening month of August were snapped up within 48 hours.

Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect.

Create your own ice cream art at Museum of Modern Ice Cream, take a giddy race at Marble Run, jam to oldies, take selfies and check out the punny records at the jukebox in Scream’s Diner, and indulge in your inner child at the adult bouncy castle at Inflatable. Relieve nostalgia in Potong (and inhale potong while you're at it), and say hello to MOIC’s very own unicorn playground at Playspace! End off your journey by swimming in a sea of sprinkles at the largest MOIC Sprinkle Pool ever created.

Our top three highlights are as follow:

1) Playspace

There are fruits swing hanging off a ceiling you can swing off ala Wrecking Ball style, a Unicorn Playground reminiscent of the Dragon Playground at Toa Payoh, plenty of instagrammable photo spots and best of all, you can have as many servings as you want of the Lychee Bandung and Taro Milk Tea ice cream sandwiches specially crafted for the museum.

2) Scream's Diner

This is one of five treats rooms serving ice cream, and it's one of our favourites because of the jukebox serving up oldies. Pick up the phones mounted to the walls and put it to your ear. There's a whole bunch of witty liners and punny jokes spoken by a Hollywood star that will get your eyes rolling.

3) MOIC Sprinkle Pool

Essentially a ball pit for adults, this MOIC Sprinkle Pool is the largest one yet. There are diving boards for the gram, but no diving is allowed as the "pool" is only 60cm deep.

As guests explore the installations, they can enjoy unlimited servings of delicious ice cream treats such as Pulut Hitam Potong ice cream, Pina Colada ice cream, Lemon Bliss Balls, Apple Pie Soft Serve and more. Everything is pink, bright, loud and fun, and a welcome respite from the doom and gloom of the past year.

Tickets start from $38 at MOIC's website.

Museum of Ice Cream is located at 100 Loewen Road. Opens Thursdays to Sundays, 10am to 11pm, closed Mondays to Wednesdays.
